I enjoyed my stay at Hostal El Albergue. The dorms are basic and clean, and it has a lot of space to hang out or read a book. The place is very cozy and had a lot of antique details to it, which I loved. If you want to have a luxurious hostel this is not the place to be, but it’s a place with a lot of charme and heart to it. The owner Fran and his staff are super nice and very welcoming, and will help you out with everything you need.

Very nice hostel! Very cozy, bright and sheltered, with a beautiful outdoor space which really gives a family atmosphere, all in color. The owner and his partner are adorable. Always smiling and there to help if needed, you will be well looked after here 🙂 Breakfast is included and changes every day, often delicious 🙂 I recommend this hostel if you are looking for a lively and quiet space at the same time 🙂 Also great location! A pretty pearl 🙂

Maybe the one hostel where I could feel most at home. Everything is full of art and old collections. The owner is a very nice and knowledgeable person, the whole staff was always super nice too. I fell in love with this place and ended up staying a lot longer than I had anticipated. Highly recommend!

Muy buen Hostel para sentirse en el corazón de Nica, con mucha información sobre el país y muy buena onda entre la gente que por aquí pasa. Las instalaciones están muy bien, la ubicación es estupenda y el personal magnífico. Un gusto posar por aquí ?

Cheap price and great location. Great decor inside the hostel, nice kitchen and staff very friendly (although one of them seemed to steal a few of our bananas and water from fridge... maybe make sure to label your food) - when we were there the 10 bed dorm was just too hot though, only two ceiling fans and if on bottom bunk farthest from window like us it was a sauna.

Loved my experience at the hostel. Very chill and a quiet location. The look and the feel of the place was very cool in my opinion and snapped some really cool photos. The owner Frank is a very friendly and warm guy. He was very informative about Leon and Nicaragua in general. He even took another guest and I to a nice restaurant for dinner. Highly recommend for low budget travelers!

Very nice and relaxed hostel. Great location, well equipped kitchen and nice common area. It’s not the newest facilities but absolutely okay for the price.
The staff is 24h around and always ready to give advise, help with unusual projects (sewing) or even organise dinner events for the whole hostel.
Would definitely recommend staying here
