Although I am going back over 40 years I felt I had to write a review to show that this hotel was not always bad before it closed. Yes it was only 1 star but my girlfriend and I had a wonderful time.||.||At the time it had a rooftop pool which was fabulous (i believe the pool was moved to the ground floor at a later date). It was full board and the food was fantastic. The staff were so friendly among the best I have encountered in my many years of travel.||||I believe Callela is a bit run down now but at the time it was one of the in places to go. Happy memories. I have put march 2019 as the travel date as the selection does not go back before that.

The room was small, almost falling apart (my son fell through the bed first night), noisy, extremely hot (no airco) ... when sleeping at the back there's noisy people and airco sound all night (at least until 1.00); at the front there's a lot street sound (especially in weekends). There's lots of young people (age 13-18) staying in groups. The breakfast is really bad (the worst thing i've ever tried), only dry bread with marmelade, cheese and some meat slices (with powder coffee, juice can be bought for 2.2 euro !). Lunch and supper ... you get about the same food every day at both lunch and supper. Really poor quality. Often the meat wasn't properly prepared, french fries every day, some kind of industrial pasta, can vegetables. Only positive thing ... the beach is close, cleaning was fine and clean towels every day. Guess its a cheap hotel, for young people. Anyone over 30, you don't deserve a hotel that lousy. So stay away.

we stopped at this hostal(i mean hotel) last week and found it to be the dirtiest most depressing place on earth.the staff are so unhelpful and do not give a damn whether you are happy there or not as long as they have got their money, the room i stayed in(209) was the worst well equipped room i have ever stopped in,there were massive holes in the flooring, which looked like something out of the 1970s.The bath had been hand painted with orange gloss paint and was peeling off,the walls were damp and had been painted over leaving paint splashes all over the floor and some kind of skirting board. On going down for breakfast i discovered that they do not do english breakfast(so if you like ham, cheese, toast or bread rolls then this is the place for you).I have never felt so depressed and let down in all my life, when i first walked into that room I was waiting for jeremy Beadle to jump out and shout "youve been framed".No honestly I felt like jumping off the balcony and commiting suicide. If anybody does not believe what i am saying please do not hesitate to contact me as I have a large number of photographs to prove I am telling the truth.I have been to various resorts on the costa Brava and I have never ever come across a place or hotel like it.|
