We have been coming back to Huerta Las Terraza for 20 years. It is our place to visit when we need a reset. |If you like laying in a hammock, reading, watching birds navigating the thermals, star gazing, maybe a little water colour painting and lying by the pool (no fighting for sun beds here ) this is the place for you. Its beautiful terraced garden feels like a real sanctuary. |If you want to explore the beautiful Costa De Lutz it is a great base. We always hire a car for this reason. |It is self catering but there are small local shops a short walk away and supermarkets 10/15 min drive away. |The hosts are helpful and knowledgeable about the area. |Above all Huerta Las Terrazas has a simple low impact grace and kindness at its core. It always feels like our Spanish home. Thank you Al and Amy for making us feel so welcome for all these years.

We stayed here for 2 weeks in the "casita". Though small, the house is very well equipped and stylish - and the large bedroom was cool and airy. From the terrace, where we spent most evenings, and the beautiful swimming pool, there are fantastic view over the Straits of Gibraltar to Morocco. The English owners live on site with their young family and are always on hand to offer help and advice, but take great care to maintain the privacy of their guests.|The property is well placed to visit the coast and to travel inland, and there of lots of places to explore! A trip over to Morocco is very easy to organise from either Tarifa or Algeciras.|For those who just want to relax, there are ample loungers dotted around the gardens and Amy is a qualified therapist to offer that all important "de-stress" massage!|It is lovely to find a cottage for just 2 people which offers so much outside space! |Well Done!

We stayed in Huerta Las Terrazas in June of this year. I was six months pregnant and we wanted somewhere relaxing to chill out at but close enough to Tarifa town and beaches. This place was perfect for us. We stayed in the private Cadiz which had amazing views over the Straits to Morrocco with it's own garden and easy access to the pool. We had lovely leisurely breakfasts on the terrace and made day trips to the nearby beaches and went into town to check out the Tapas in the evening. ..... ahhh such lovely memories and fantastic, friendly, knowledgeable hosts.

We visited again a year later and it was just as magical. The breakfasts are superbly made and delivered by Al. The rooms are beautiful, freshly drawn water from their well, lavander on the pillows are just some of the little touches that make this place perfect. Not forgetting the hosts who become your friends, they have plenty of advice on places to go, to eat and to visit. The gardens are exquisite and are exceptionally well kept. We could not rate this any higher.

We stayed back in August for 5 nights. Planned to do so much in the local area and came and fell in love wth the place (and as a result didn't do much at all). Spent some very relaxing family time for days around the beautiful pool. Alistair, Amy and family are wonderful hosts and best of all is Mo the Legend their special dog. Travelled into Tarifa ten minutes drive away and tried out their recommended restaurants - all superb recommendations. We took a trip whale watching on the last day which was amazing and was very sad to leave when the time came. A magical family time spent in a magical place.

This simple but lovely little casita is a great bolthole for two, perched on picturesque terraces above Pelayo and just 10 minutes from Tarifa and Algeciras. Anything the casita lacks in sophistication is more than made up for by the stunning views over the Straits of Gibraltar clear across to Morocco, by the private use of the spring fed pool on the terrace above and by the sheer rustic charm and thoughtfulness that have obviously gone into making the casita a little home from home. Add to this a warm welcome and general helpfulness (in our case above and beyond the call of duty) that we received from Amy and Alistair and you have the perfect recipe for a wonderful and relaxing holiday.
