We were looking for a place to stay one night in Chimney Rock area as we head back home. Loved the reviews from others about Evening Shade so we decided to give it a try. It did not disappoint. Yvonne and Jim were so pleasant. They were running errands when I called but said they would hold the room until we arrived. I inquired about places to eat nearby. We tried the Lake house for dinner and Victory Restaurant for breakfast. Both were excellent recommendations. Our room was perfect. Small area but plenty big for us. We Loved it had a front and back porch. Parking in front of your room. Inside there was a small couch, side tables have lamps and plugs in for chargers, there is a small refrigerator, TV, bed, closet, and basic bathroom necessities. The room was Spotless!!!! The towels and sheets smelled amazing. I would love to know what they use as it smelled that good. The sheets were super soft and the comforter and decor was beautiful and welcoming. The bed was perfect. They also have creek and chimney rock views along with a view of Hickory Nut Falls. They have several fire pits near the water with chairs (folks please take out your trash. Sad to see what folks leave). There are picnic tables and swings for guests to enjoy down by the water. We loved it there so much we stayed another night.

I really hope this place will be able to reopen from the storm I have been looking for updates about it and haven’t found much. If it does I will absolutely be booking a trip this place is a little slice of heaven, I stayed with a friend in May and honestly could not have asked for a more beautiful and peaceful place to stay. Perfect location, great service, and perfect location.

Unbelievable views of chimney rock from the rooms and great access to the Broad River. Easy access to the town center and parks. Nice and amenable staff. Unfortunately the building could be a hazard risk to those with asthma or other respiratory diseases. I spotted mold in just about every corner of the room and many of the walls and roof tiles are warping from humidity and moisture. I would consider returning but I may not be able to recommend others.

This has been our go-to spot for years, and we have so many amazing memories here!!!!

We've enjoyed our stay every single time, and I can't imagine that it could be gone ?

We brought our 4 kids last year, and we had the time of our lives!!! We haven't decided if we will tell them any time soon.

The Evening Shade has been a tradition for us for the past 12 years. We come here at least once a year. My mawmaw has now passed away and my mom and I have kept coming and this Mother's Day trip my daughter was able to get away and join us. We had an amazing time (I had no doubt we would) but the changes that Yvonne and Tim have made is wonderful!!! I love the new style table, the stool seats are useful in so many ways and the new bed spread and curtains are like a breath of fresh air. I love it and we're already planning next years mothers day trip, maybe we can squeeze in a quick weekend getaway before then. We come to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery and that's just what you'll get if you come stay with Yvonne and Tim at The Evening Shade!!

First off, the people in the office are amazing and so welcoming! Just visited for the 4th of July for a relaxing weekend get away. The property was beautiful and the sweet fulltime neighbor next door was a delight to meet. Very clean cabin with all the basic needs. I will always remember this trip and I hope to return to such a beautiful little town.

My fiancé and I got stuck outside of our Airbnb and the lovely couple who runs this inn helped save the day. This couple spent their whole evening helping us try to get into contact with our Airbnb host. Due to them helping us, we got to enjoy our weekend and get engaged!! ❤️ We did not stay at this inn (due to our dogs), but in the future, we will be staying here due to their kindness and love. I would recommend this inn to anybody! It has amazing views, parking next to the cabins, good local eats, and is very clean.

We come here all the time and have been for the past 4 years multiple times a year. Man they have done some amazing renovations. From the new office look to the rooms. JUST WOW.. we get the same room each time and when I opened the door my jaw dropped. It looked totally different. We loved it before but now we are totally in love. Yall have got to check this place out. From the amazing Yvonne & Tim to the newly renovated rooms to the breathtaking views to the rumbling of the river to the fire pits to the fresh coffee each morning this was the best trip ever. Thank yall for making our home away from.home even better
